A woman giving birth
Sucks light
In to her intransigent den

It’s a sacrifice

She’s plastered by
The sensuous frenzy

And dispels elation
To preserve
Her wombenly disposition

From bestowing
Expelled placenta
In her hands

But these differences are irreconcilable

The baby breathes

Leaving mafficking mother
Orgulous

Look what I’ve done
Look what has come

The maelstrom
Of empty uterus
Imbibes the light
Like wine

Her dipsomania
Is giving life
